The upcoming OECD Global Forum on Environment on the topic of “New Perspectives on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus” will be held on 27-28 November 2014 at the OECD headquarters in Paris.

This Forum will provide a platform for senior policy experts, private sector leaders and government officials from OECD and Partner Countries to explore how countries can align policy goals to address water, energy and land-use reforms in a more coherent way. A draft agenda and additional information is available on the Forum website: http://www.oecd.org/environment/nexus.htm

The Forum will be held over two days and will discuss four areas that can contribute to more integrated policy making in this domain:

  • Understanding long-term impacts of the nexus on growth
  • Improving coherence between national, regional and local planning and priorities
  • Promoting private sector investment in the nexus
  • Mainstreaming the nexus in the post-2015 development agenda

The Forum will also feature a high-level meeting of the Global Dialogue on Water Security and Sustainable Growthco-chaired by the OECD Secretary-General Mr. Angel Gurría and Dr. Ursula Schaefer-Preuss, Chair of the Global Water Partnership.
